Hello!
I survived my trip here without any major troubles and now I'm in my apartment in Buenos Aires. Anne and I live with a woman named Beatriz (an incredibly sweet woman with a beautiful apartment) in a neighborhood called San Telmo, the part of BA closest to the Plaza de Mayo and other historical sites as well as our school, la Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA). We also have a Swiss roommate who took us to her friend's apartment, where we spent the evening with other Swiss, French, and German language students that she knows from la Academia de Buenos Aires where she studies Spanish, which was very nice since we didn't know anyone our first night. Today we took the placement exam and tomorrow start our Spanish classes, which will be kind of a chore but we do get to go on little field trips in the city. We finally bought cell phones so that we aren't oblivious to each other's whereabouts, and we are slowly figuring out how to get around and trying to master the ridiculous accent that they have down here.
So far everything is going great and my only complaint is the heat, which really isn't a complaint but rather about seventy degrees of climate shock after the last month or two in Michigan. My group is nice and I'm looking forward to meeting other exchange students in our Spanish classes.
Finally, some contact information...
my email is waltone@bc.edu
skype is eawalton

If you have any questions about anything or want to send me your own updates, PLEASE do so via comments, emails, or regular mail once I figure out how that works.
Fun fact of the day: it takes us about three times each time we have to lock or unlock the door to Beatriz's apartment (weird keys), but we're starting to get pretty good at finding ourselves when we're lost :)
